Budgam, July 03 (KNO): Three months after the landslides hit Charar-e-Sharief area, the authorities in central Kashmir’s Budgam district have failed to clear the road from debris, causing hardships to the people. Local residents told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the landslides blocked the road at Zagipora village in Charar-e-Sharief area of Budgam nearly three months ago. However, they said, the road has not been cleared yet, which is causing immense hardships to them. “We approached many higher ups so far. But, no steps were taken to clear the road,” a local said, adding that the concerned authorities should take steps in this regard so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, the locals said most of the roads in Chadoora division are in a dilapidated condition as they have not been repaired since long. “Authorities have failed to macadamize the roads in Chadoora Sub-division. Due to the bad condition of the roads, the commuters are facing tremendous hardships,” they said. When contacted, Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) Chadoora, PN Hameed assured that the grievances of people will be redressed at an earliest. He also said that most of the roads have been taken over by PMGSY and they have already started macadamization process on these roads—(KNO)
